Reasi, Dec 17: The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) organized an awareness camp on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) at Surandi, Kauri, near the iconic highest railway bridge in Reasi. The camp aimed to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities among the local youth.
The event was attended by Anil Sharma, Assistant Director and Nodal Officer of KVIC, who is also the Principal of Training Institutes, along with Rajinder Digra, CEO/DIO Udhampur/Reasi. Mukesh Patle and Abhay Singh, Executives of KVIC, provided a comprehensive insight and briefing on the various schemes implemented by KVIC, with a focus on PMEGP.
Several prominent personalities graced the occasion, including Sansar Singh (ex-Sarpanch, Arnas, Judda), Shamim Akhter, ex Sarpanch Judda, Mohd. Rafiq (Social Worker, Judda), Mohan Lal (ex-Sarpanch, Kanthan A), Devendar Singh (ex-Naib Sarpanch, Kanthan), Kuldeep Raj (Lambardar, Kanthan A), and Ajay (KVIB, Reasi). The event also saw participation from men and women in large numbers from in and around Arnas, Surandi, Judda, Kanthan, and Bakkal area respectively.
The participants were provided insights about various schemes run by KVIC and expressed keen interest in the opportunities presented to them. They actively interacted with KVIC officials to seek clarifications and gain a deeper understanding of the all schemes.
