SRINAGAR, Dec 17: Police in Kupwara District here have seized the vehicle of a notorious drug peddler worth Rs 10.5 lakh.
The seized Hyundai Venue (JK01AT-4651) vehicle belonging to one Javeed Ahmad Sofi of Khunbal Handwara, district Kupwara, was allegedly bought using the proceeds of the narcotics trafficking, said a police official.
He said the action was taken under section 68(f) of the NDPS Act of 1985.
According to him, the seized vehicle was linked to several drug-related cases, including FIR numbers 193/2024, 266/2022, and 101/2018 under various sections of the NDPS Act.
“During the investigation of these cases, it came to fore that the vehicle was purchased from the proceeds of illicit trafficking in narcotics drugs and psychotropic substances,” he said.
