JAMMU, Dec 17: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed & Law and Order, Vijay Kumar, today attended the opening ceremony of a 4-week training program for the Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel of Jammu Zone.
The event took place at the Commando Training Centre, Sunjwan, in the presence of Anand Jain, ADGP Jammu Zone, along with senior police officials and trainers.
A statement said that the training program is designed to enhance the operational skills of the SOG personnel, focusing on physical fitness, combat strategies, and specialized techniques for counter-terrorism operations and maintaining public safety.
In his address to the trainees, ADGP Vijay Kumar highlighted the importance of the training module, emphasizing that such programs are vital in today’s dynamic environment.
“This training ensures the readiness and resilience of our forces, enabling them to effectively safeguard citizens and maintain law and order,” he said.
ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, praised the Armed wing for their logistical support in organizing the training and encouraged the trainees to make the most of the opportunity to enhance their skills.
He expressed confidence that the program would improve the operational capabilities of the SOG in Jammu Zone.
The event was also attended by Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG JSK Range; Joginder Singh, SSP Jammu; Abrar Ahmad Choudhary, Principal CTC Sunjwan; Sanjay Sharma, Deputy CO IRP 14th Battalion; Dr Surinder Choudhary, Deputy CO IRP 14 Battalion, along with other officers, instructors, and trainees.
