JAMMU, Dec 19: State unit of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today alleged that Congress and BJP are playing politics over Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and they should stop this campaign immediately.
Referring to the ongoing deadlock between BJP and Congress over Dr Ambedkar in Parliament, the J&K unit president of BSP Darshan Rana said that both the political parties are doing vote bank politics over Baba Saheeb.
He said Union Home Minister Amit Shah should take back the words he used about Baba Sahib in Parliament and apologize for it. Rana said Congress Party has always insulted Dr Ambedkar and they many times tried to erase Baba Saheb’s name from the Constitution.
Vice president Charanjit Chargotra, State coordinator Gaurav and general secretary Shashi Bhushan Thapa said that BSP was in power in Uttar Pradesh and during that time many parks and statues were built in the honour of Baba Saheb and schemes were also started in his name, but when BJP and Congress were in power, no work was done in the name of Baba Saheb. They said Congress and BJP are trying to woo the Dalit class in the name of Dr Ambedkar, but the people of the country know that only Bahujan Samaj Party has been working for the Dalit society.
