SRINAGAR : Two people were reportedly killed and several others injured when a police bullet-proof bunker vehicle overturned during a clash between supporters of two rival political parties in the north Kashmir district of Kupwara. However, police spokesperson was not available to give details about the incident.
Official sources said supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peoples Conference (PC) clashed at village Warsun after Muzaffar Hussain Baig of PDP was declared elected from Baramulla Lok Sabha seat yesterday.
The rival supporters pelted stones and attacked each other with lathis, they said, adding that police intervened to disengage the rival groups.
A police bunker vehicle overturned in the process and several people were injured. The injured were shifted to hospital where two of them have reportedly died.
