PANCHARI, Dec 20: In order to attract tourists from across the Country, the Omar Abdullah Government will give top priority to place the virgin and unexplored tourist destinations of the Jammu division on the National Tourism Canvas.
This was stated by the National Conference Additional General Secretary and Former Minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, here today.
Addressing a public meeting, Sadhotra said, “Jammu division has immense tourism potential that is needed to be explored and harnessed optimally for transformation of the region. The Chief Minister has reiterated time and again that both the divisions of Jammu and Kashmir will get equitable opportunities to grow and flourish.”
He strongly pitched for promoting and developing Panchari Tourism Sector via Lander that can prove to be tourism hub, accruing economic benefits not only to specific local areas but entire Jammu region.
Sadhotra called for a multi-pronged strategy to develop and promote destinations like Bani-Basohli, Bhaderwah, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch.
“These areas, known for their breathtaking landscapes, cultural heritage and adventure tourism opportunities, are set to be showcased through national and international campaigns,” he said.
“Additionally, efforts should also be made to promote Jammu as a year-round tourist destination, leveraging its unique climate and cultural diversity,” he added.
Addressing the gathering, former Minister and Zonal president National Conference Abdul Gani Malik also emphasized the need for developing Panchari Tourism Circuit to satiate the aspirations of the people, who want tourism to flourish in a big way.
MLA Ramban, Arjun Singh Rajput also urged the government for seeking expeditious completion of Sewa Hydel Project to meet the power requirements and generate jobs for skilled, unskilled and educated youth.
Earlier, a large number of youth joined National Conference.
Sadhotra congratulated and welcomed new entrants in the party fold and hoped that their joining will further strengthen National Conference and its leadership.
