JAMMU, Dec 20: A five-day course on ‘Investigation of Cyber Crime’ that began on December 16 at the S.K. Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur, concluded today. The course attended by 11 officers from the J&K Police, aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of cybercrime investigation. A valedictory function was held to mark the conclusion of the course, with Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, Deputy Director (Indoor) at SKPA Udhampur, gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
Gupta emphasized the importance of staying updated with modern techniques to handle cybercrimes effectively. He encouraged the participants, as first responders, to be well-prepared to act promptly when cybercrimes are reported. The course covered various critical topics, including the history, evolution and types of cybercrimes, such as malicious codes, computer viruses and web hacking, as well as an overview of networking and internet concepts. The course also delved into cyber frauds, such as hacking, phishing and identity theft, and discussed emerging trends in cybercrime, including the use of technology for financial frauds and spying.
The course featured lectures delivered by distinguished guest faculty from academia and J&K Police, ensuring participants gained insights from experienced professionals. The course was coordinated by Inspector Rohit Gupta, with assistance from HC Randip Singh, a faculty member.
