JAMMU, Dec 20: To discuss the teething problems of small private schools, a joint high level meeting of executive members of the Jammu Kashmir Private Schools Association (JKPSA) Jammu with their counterpart from JK-unaided PSA Kashmir was held here today.
Executive members from both the associations showed their dismay over tagging the students of class 10th, 11th and 12th who are going to appear in board exam in the current session and year, Annual 2025 with the nearby Government schools.
Tagging of students along with CID verification of the members of management committee, delay in obtaining NOCs and problems in the regulation of fee from FFRC were the key points, which both the associations discussed.
Members also highlighted that on the one hand JKBOSE has released the board related facilities to the 24 private schools whose recognition / affiliation was pending since 2022 due to the non availability of NOCs from the different departments as one time exemption for the academic session 2023-24 and 2024-25 and on the other hand, JKBOSE is forcing the schools whose recognition / affiliation has lapsed due to the non availability of NOCs from the different departments to deposit Rs 7000 as tagging fee.
Members unanimously appealed Sakina Masood (Itoo), Minister School Education Department for her intervention and directions to JKBOSE authorities to restrain from the practice of tagging of the students till the delivery of all NOCs from all departments is done in accordance to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Services Guarantee Act, of 2011.
