JAMMU, Dec 22: A deputation of senior functionaries of PHE Workers Welfare Association led by Bakshi Singh, Subash Verma, Rajesh Jamwal (President) of the Association and Pawar Kumar (President, Daily Wagers wing) called on Javed Rana, Minister for Jal Shakti (PHE) department at his residence at Jammu and submitted a charter of demands.
The deputation during meeting with the PHE Minister projected several burning demands of the employees and workers. The major demand of the employees/ workers included regularisation of daily wagers who have rendered seven years of service. They further demanded that Rs 7 lakhs Gratuity be given to the retired and retiring daily wagers, conducting of DPC meeting on time so that stagnated employees be promoted, the recoveries in the name of SRO – 149 of 1949 and SRP – 59 be stopped, the left out workers be placed on NIC portal, the Rs 700 per day be given to the need base wagers of Jal Shakti department, the damaged pumping stations/tube well buildings/ chowkidar quarters be repaired and the washroom/toilet facilities be provided to the field staff at duty places.
The Minister listened to the deputationists patiently and assured them that all the genuine demands of the workers will be solved sympathetically.
The other prominent leaders of the Association who accompanied the deputation included- Ram Labhaya, Ashok Kumar, Sanjay Bali, Manzoor Ali, Sanjeev Gupta, Kuldeep Kumar.
