JAMMU, Dec 22: The Youth Commission Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar, in collaboration with SIBA Event Management & Innovations Cooperatives, organized a free multi-speciality health checkup camp at St Mary’s Garrison Church, Gandhinagar, Jammu, providing free medical services to the underprivileged, marginalized, and slum-dwelling communities in the region.
The event was graced by the presence of Ivan Albert Pereira, Bishop of Jammu-Srinagar, who honored the dedicated team of doctors and healthcare professionals for their selfless service. Fr. Sebastian Nagthunkal, the Vicar General presented saplings to all the doctors hailing from a range of renowned hospitals in Jammu, including Sharp Sight Eye Hospital Jammu, Holistic Hues, Redcliffe Labs, Ujala Cygnus Healthcare Services and JK Medicity Hospital Jammu.
The multi-speciality health camp offered consultations across a wide range of medical fields, including General Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Gynecology (Gynae), Pediatrics, Physiotherapy, Eye Checkups, Dental Care, Oncology, Endocrinology, General Checkups (BP, Sugar levels). Additionally, the event provided free medicines to those in need, ensuring that medical care was accessible to all, especially to those who may not otherwise afford it.
Jafat Masih, Director of the Youth Commission, Diocese of Jammu-Srinagar, expressed gratitude to all the participating doctors, youth volunteers, and healthcare professionals for their contributions. Gratitude was also expressed to Vikrant Dogra, Chairman of Jammu-Kashmir Dairy Cooperative Federation (JKDCF), for his generous support and contribution to the event. The Youth Commission also acknowledged Sidharth, Baljeet, Anil Gill (Senior Lab Technician) and Bunty Gill (youth animator) and Aron Singh, Youth president for their assistance, which made the event meaningful and impactful for the local community.
The health camp was part of a continued effort to uplift and serve the underserved sections of society, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to quality healthcare.
