One yr RI to accused in molestation case

JAMMU, May 17: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Sanjeev Gupta today awarded one year imprisonment to one Kuldeep Singh, who was facing trial for molesting a girl student.
According to the police case, on March 12, 2012 prosecutirx lodged a written report with Bishnah Police that she was chased by the accused when she had gone to the fields and thereafter the accused molested her.
After hearing both the sides, Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Sanjeev Gupta observed, “protection of society and deterring the criminal is avowed object of law and that is required to be achieved by imposing an appropriate sentence”.
“It is the duty of the court to hear the loud cry for justice by society in case of sexual molestation with innocent helpless girls and respond by imposing of proper sentence”, the court said.
With these observations, Court awarded one year rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 to one Kuldeep Singh.
