PHE daily wager hit by bike, dies in hospital

RAJOURI, Dec 23: A daily wager employee of PHE/ Jal Shakti department died after he was hit by a Motor-cycle in Kalakote area today.
Official sources said that a daily wager of Jal Shakti Department died in Kalakote area of Rajori district on today. The bike rider who hit him also sustained injuries in the mishap.
The victim, 56-year-old Vishwamitra Sharma, a resident of Soma, Tattapani in Kalakot, was going from home to market side in the morning when a bike rider namely, Liaqat Ali hit him hard outside Kalakot Police Station. Eyewitnesses said that bike rider was driving rashly and he hit Vishwamitra so hard that he was thrown away and fell unconscious on the spot.
The locals of the area shifted both of them to the Government hospital at Kalakote, where after first aid, Vishwamitra was referred to GMC Rajouri, where he died during treatment. The bike rider admitted to Kalakot hospital is said to be stable.
The police took cognizance of the matter and registered a case and confiscated the bike. After conducting the post-mortem and completing other formalities at GMC Rajouri, the body was handed over to the family.
