Sidha elected president of Purohit Sabha Martand for 3rd consecutive term

JAMMU, Dec 23: Ashok Kumar Sidha has been elected present of Prohit Sabha Martand for third consecutive term by defeating his nearest rival Dr M K Bharat by a margin of 77 votes, the elections of which were held on Sunday.
Ashok Sidha got 377 votes while Dr Bharat got 260 votes out of total 608 polled votes, Nine votes were rejected. This was stated in a handout issued by Election Authority of Purohit Sabha Martand and Chairman of the Sabha, Avtar Krishan Mussa.
Tej Krishen Tickoo was elected as general secretary of the Sabha by defeating his nearest rival Ashwani Sidha by a margin of 118 votes. Tickoo got 357 votes while Sidha got 239 votes. Ten votes were rejected. Total 606 voters cast their vote for the post of general secretary.
It may be recalled that Ashok Sidha has been elected president of the Sabha for four times and this was his third consecutive victory.
