Outreach program on GST awareness organised

POONCH, Dec 24: An outreach programme on Goods and Services Tax (GST) awareness, organised by the J&K State Taxes Office, Poonch, in collaboration with the J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), was held here today.
The event was graced by Quratul Ain Batool, State Tax Officer, Poonch and Vineet Kohli, Chairman, J&K ICAI.
Batool welcomed the audience and set the tone for the program, while CA Kohli deliberated on the importance of timely filing of GST returns, offences and penalties related to fake invoices and fake Input Tax Credit (ITC).
The program aimed to bridge the gap between the department and taxpayers, promoting a better understanding of GST regulations and compliance.
Various participants, including trade associations, businessmen, tax professionals and officials from the State Taxes Office, attended the awareness program.
Among others who attended the programme included Imran Mir, Mohd Hafiz and Nazia, Inspectors, State Taxes Office, Poonch.
The event provided a platform for stakeholders to interact, clarify doubts, and gain insights into GST compliance.
