SHOPIAN, Dec 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today visited various health care institutions in the district to assess the availability of healthcare facilities to the citizens.
The DC visited PHC Mashwara, PHC Berthipora, and Health Centre Wathoo to take first-hand appraisal of medicare facilities and interacted with staff, and also took stock of heating arrangements, reliable ambulance and transport services.
The visit aimed to evaluate the healthcare services provided to the public and identify areas for improvement.
During the visit, the DC reviewed the under-construction health sector building at Wathoo and the old building of PHC Mashwara, and emphasized the need for optimal use of these facilities for public welfare. Health department was instructed to submit a proposal for their proper usage.
The DC’s visit is a step towards ensuring that these healthcare facilities provide quality healthcare services to the local population.
Enroute, the DC visited Kisan Khidmat Ghar at Berthipora and under- construction Indoor Stadium at Arhama and reviewed the working and ongoing works respectively.
Among others, the DC was accompanied by ACR Shopian, DIO, BMO, BMO Keller, and other officials during the visit.
