Impressive Punjabi Kavi Durbar dedicated to ‘Char Sahibzadas’ organised

JAMMU, Dec 24: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with Talented Writers’ Forum, J&K organized a Punjabi Kavi Durbar dedicated to Char Sahibzadas (Sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji) today in connection with Martyrdom of Sahibzadas at Wonder Kids International School, Dhinday Kalan, Miran Sahib;
The programme was held under the guidance of Harvinder Kour, Secretary, JKAACL, Rajesh Bittu, Chairman, J&K Religious Tourism, Culture & Heritage, Dr Baljt Singh Raina, president PLS-J, Amarpal Singh, Chairman, WKIS, Jasvinder Dingh Kuku, president Rotary Club & Helping Hand, Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi of JKAACL, and Jang S. Verman were present in the programme. It wa attended by the staff and the students of the school.
The programme started with the welcome address by Beant Kour, Director, WKIS. The poets presented their poems on the themes of martyrdom of four sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The poets who recited their poetry included Rajpaul Singh Mastana, H S Uppal, Jang S. Verman, M S Nirala, Saran Star, Balkar Singh, Bachan Bharti, Balwinder Deep and Jagjot Singh Jashan. The budding students of the school also presented their poems dedicated to the martyrs.
Speaking on this occasion Rajesh Bittu appreciated the poetry recited by the students as well as well known Punjabi poets of the region. He said that the young generation needs to be connected with their roots through traditions, heritage and culture. They lauded the efforts of JKAACL for organizing such kind of programmes at far flung areas like Dhinday Kala, Miran Sahib to promote Punjabi among youg generation and masses. Dr Baljit Raina also expressed his views on this occasion.
Popinder Singh gave a brief of the activities and the programmes conducted by the Academy and informed that forty such programmes have been conducted during the two last years at various far flung areas of J&K. He offered to work with literary and cultural societies for the development of art & culture particularly the programmes associated with value based programmes for the youth.
