JAMMU, Dec 24: Aimed to promote employment and self-reliance among Minorities, Backward Classes and Person with Disabilities (PwDs) in the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Sindhu Infrastructure Development Corporation (SIDCO) signed number of General Loan Agreements (GLA) with other Corporations, here today.
The GTA includes a Government Revolving Guarantee’s worth Rs 10 crore with the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), Rs 5 crore with National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) and Rs 5 crore with National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC), an enterprise under the Government of India.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Dr Abha Rani Singh, Chairman-Cum-Managing Director of NMDFC, Rajan Sehgal, Managing Director of NBCFDC, R K Mishra General Manager/CS of NDFDC and Bhupesh Chaudhary, Managing Director of SIDCO.
This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to fostering sustainable development and enhancing opportunities among Minorities, Backward Classes and Person with Disabilities in Ladakh.
This landmark partnership aims to implement Employment Generation Schemes across Ladakh, providing interest-subsidized loans at concessional rates to empower Minorities, Backward Classes and Person with Disabilities.
The initiative is designed to transition of individuals from being job seekers to becoming job creators, enabling them to become self-reliant and contributing members of society.
The agreement focuses on uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the targeted population by increasing their income through support in key sectors, including Transport, Tourism, Agriculture, Service Industry and Education.
By addressing financial barriers and encouraging entrepreneurship, this initiative aims to unlock the potential of Ladakh’s communities while contributing to the region’s economic growth and prosperity.
