2 drug peddlers arrested, 13.7 grams heroin recovered

UDHAMPUR, Dec 24: Police today arrested two drug peddlers from the area near Subash Stadium Road Udhampur and Chak Morh Rehambal.
Police team from PS Udhampur, led by SHO Raghuvir Singh, while performing patrolling duty near Subash Stadium Road, noticed an individual roaming suspiciously. Upon conducting a thorough frisking, 6.01 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from the possession of the apprehended person namely Mohitesh Verma, son of Sham Lal Verma, resident of Ward number 12, Chabutra Bazar Udhampur.
Police arrested the accused and registered a case vide FIR No. 515/2024 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act at Police Station Udhampur.
In another case, Police team from Police Station Rehambal, led by SHO Nishat Sumbria, apprehended a person from Chak Morh when he was moving towards Chopra shop by foot. On his frisking, 7.6 grams of heroin like contraband substance was recovered from the possession of the apprehended person namely Rohit Bakshi, son of Lt Ashok Bakshi of Chopra Shop Udhampur.
Police arrested the alleged drug peddler and registered a case vide FIR No. 258/2024 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act at Police Station Rehambal.
