WARSHAW, Dec 24 : Poland will launch its first reconnaissance satellite next year, Polish Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalecz said on Monday.
“Next year, the first Polish reconnaissance satellite will be launched into space. A contract has just been signed for four microsatellites worth over 550 million zlotys [$134 million],” Pelczynska-Nalecz wrote on X.
The satellites will have military purposes, the minister added.
“This enhances the capabilities of the Polish armed forces in gathering intelligence data,” Pelczynska-Nalecz said.
She said that the project would be implemented by Polish company Creotech Instruments. (UNI)
