JAMMU, May 18: A meeting of all prominent Sarpanchs and Panchs of block Dansal was held at Nagrota for discussing the situation arisen due to terrorists’ threats to elected Panchayat members in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meet strongly criticized the attitude and statement by a section of so called All Jammu and Kashmir Sarpanchs Conference that extended support to Hurriyat Conference in its cause for Kashmir movement.
Expressing support to the Government, the meet asserted full faith in the administration and appealed the Sarpanchs and Panchs to continue with their duty without any fear from the terrorist groups. The speakers also condemned the terror groups for executing selective killing and creating a fearful atmosphere in the Valley.
Those who spoke in the meeting, included Rameshwar Dutt, (Sarpanch Nagrota), Joginder Kumar (Sarpanch Nadore), Noor Mohd (Sarpanch Marh), Mohd Iqbal (Sarpanch Khanpur), Raman Wazir (Sarpanch Dhok Waziran), Kulbhushan Singh (Sarpanch Katal Batal), Mohd Sadiq (Sarpanch Jenakla), Saraj Din (Sarpanch Turah), Mohan Lal (Sarpanch Kofgali), Mohd Ali (Sarpanch Bandoo) and Rehmat Ali (Sarpanch Bai Bajalta).
