JAMMU, Dec 26: Workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena (DF&SS) here today staged a protest demonstration against the soaring prices of vegetable and other essential commodities.
The protest was led by DF&SS president, Ashok Gupta who said that entire winter session of the Parliament was wasted on politics and issue of sky rocketing food and vegetable prices was not discussed.
He also claimed that farmers are being paid very less and the people who are black marketing are earning massive profits.
“Government of Punjab on daily basis releases the price list of vegetables and other commodities which are then sold on those prices but in J&K nothing like that happens which leads to inflated prices of vegetables,” Gupta maintained adding: “The government should form a Price Committee to fix the price of commodities on daily basis so that the common man can be saved from inflation and black marketers.”
Bantu, Kalu, Nanku, Ashish, Naresh, Vikky, Sukhdev, Prem and many others were also present in the protest.
