JAMMU, Jan 2: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Nagrota area claimed to have booked a notorious bovine smuggler under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
Zakir Hussain of Khanpur, tehsil Nagrota, district Jammu, was booked under PSA for his repeated engagement in criminal activities, particularly bovine smuggling, a police official said.
Several FIRs were registered against the accused at Police Stations Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli, Kathua, Rajbagh, and Samba, he said.
Authorities have issued arrest warrants against the accused which were executed by PSI Neeraj Parihar of Police Station Nagrota under the supervision of SHO Nagrota, SDPO Nagrota and overall supervision of SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Kumar Sharma.
It is worth mentioning here that four PSAs were slapped against the bovine smugglers and one smuggler was booked under the PIT NDPS Act in the year 2024. Two warrants under the PSA were also executed on January 1, 2025.
