Year long programme chalked out

JAMMU, Jan 7: Showing serious concern over the failure of successive governments over the past 35 years to offer any concrete solutions to the Kashmiri Pandit genocide, Panun Kashmir (PK) and the Youth 4 Panun Kashmir have resolved fostering grassroots engagement and strengthening aspirations to reclaim their cherished homeland within Kashmir Valley. On the 35th anniversary of the Kashmiri Pandit exodus, the Executive Council of Youth 4 Panun Kashmir (Y4PK) and Panun Kashmir which met at Pune and here, today has unveiled an action plan aimed at engaging the displaced community on ground zero.
The centrepiece of the action plan is a solidarity March, set to take place on January 19, 2025, in Jagti, Jammu, and other camps. This march is a powerful call to action, symbolizing the unity of the community and its unwavering determination to reclaim its cultural and geographical identity a handout issued by Youth 4 PK said .
Meanwhile, Panun Kashmir held a meeting here today under the chairmanship of its convener, Dr Agnishekhar under virtual mode in which members from many parts of India and abroad participated.
A handout issued later said that among the overseas participants were Rahul Razdan, USA, Arun Ticku, Canada, Veer Wangoo, Europe, Subash Dhar, Africa, Virender Sapru, Singapore, Ashtosh Kak , Australia , Rahul Kaul and Rohit Bhat Pune, Samrat Kichloo Mumbai, Anil Ticku,Bangalore, Pardeep Kaul Kolkata, Rajinder Kaul, Ramesh Manwati, Kamal Hak, Digamber Raina and Vithal Chodhary , Delhi NCR. Besides, Dr Agnishekhar, Sanjay Raina , Sanjay Dattareya, S L Bakshi, Rakesh Peer and couple of camp representative attended the meeting at Jammu.
The meeting deliberated on the current situation and the challenges confronting the community. The meeting started with deep introspection of the community’s ongoing struggle of 35 years, in exile. The members expressed disappointment at the total neglect of the exiled and deracinated community by the successive Governments both at the Centre and in the State.
The participants emphasised on the need for rejuvenating the community’s struggle against the apathy and injustice. It also took a serious note of hardships faced by relief holders both at Jammu and Delhi.
The meeting resolved that PK will fully support Youth in observing the 2025 as the year for KP youth globally. A year long programme for involving the Generation next on lending continuity to struggle in exile was chalked. The scheduled 24 hour multi event programme in Jagti to commemorate the 36th Exodus Day on January 19 will be utilized as the launch pad of the year long campaign.
