Srinagar, Jan 7: Police along with a Forest Division Officer today seized 40 fts of illicit forest timber in the Keller area of Shopian.
As per authorities, while acting on specific information about a consignment of illegally smuggled forest timber in Keller, a team of Police Station Keller headed by SHO PS Keller along with DFO Shopian carried out the action.
Under the action, the residence of Manzoor Ahmad Khanday son of Gh Ahmad Khanday resident of Chowan Keller was raided.
“During search, the joint team was able to recover 40 fts of forest timber,” police said.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Keller and investigation has been initiated.
