UDHAMPUR, Jan 7: Udhampur Police rescued 18 bovines, which were being smuggled to Kashmir in a truck, here today.
Team of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Raghuvir Singh foiled the bovine smuggling bid by intercepting the vehicle, bearing registration number JK02CL-1144, which was on its way towards Kashmir valley without any valid permission.
Driver of the truck fled away from the spot after leaving the vehicle on the road. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place while a case FIR No. 11/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
