KISHTWAR, Jan 7: Police here today solved a theft case within 24 hours and arrested three persons for stealing 25 KV electric transformer along with its core and coils.
The theft occurred during the intervening night of January 3-4 in Chandara-Balgran area of Drabshalla.
On receiving the complaint, SSP Kishtwar acted promptly and constituted a special team led by Incharge Police Post Drabshalla under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Kishtwar.
After hectic efforts the team identified and apprehended the thieves behind the crime and they were identified as Mohd. Mushtaq, son of Mohd. Ameen Shah, resident of Dunadi, Drabshalla; Mohd. Dawood, son of Ghulam Mohd, resident of Balgran, Drabshalla and Liaqat Hussain, son of Hazoor Din, resident of Chamoti, Drabshalla.
During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in the theft and disclosed the location where they had concealed the stolen property. Acting on their disclosure, cops recovered the stolen transformer along with its core and coils.
A case in this regard has been registered in FIR number 07/2025 under relevant sections of law and investigation started.
