SAMBA, Jan 8: Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), J&K UT, Khursheed Ahmad Shah and District Development Commissioner Rajesh Sharma today conducted a detailed review of the ongoing JJM works in district Samba here at a meeting.
At the outset, the Superintending Engineer gave a brief on the progress achieved in the execution of works in different parts of the district. It was informed that 81 water supply schemes have been completed and another 49 are set for completion by March 2025.
The Mission Director JJM emphasized the importance of completing all pending schemes and achieving 100% “Har Ghar Jal” certification for covered villages.
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma instructed AEEs and JEs to address site-specific issues promptly and expedite work to meet the stipulated deadlines.
Key directives were issued to accelerate tubewell drilling, procurement and installation of machinery, construction of Overhead Tanks (OHTs), pump rooms, and pipe laying activities. The chair urged all stakeholders to work on a war footing to achieve the set targets and ensure seamless implementation of JJM in district Samba.
The review meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Jammu, Consultants (Civil and Mechanical), Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Junior Engineers (Civil and Mechanical), DPMU Samba and TPI representatives.
