Ladakh gets 14 posts including CS

JAMMU, Jan 8: The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has increased IAS cadre strength of AGMUT cadre (Senior Duty Posts) to 336. Strength of Jammu and Kashmir has gone up from 65 to 71 and that of Ladakh from 10 to 14.
Significantly, Ladakh has also got post of the Chief Secretary.
Jammu and Kashmir will now have 71 Senior Duty Posts of IAS.
They include the Chief Secretary, one post of Additional CS and Financial Commissioner, Chairman Special Tribunal, Principal Resident Commissioner and nine posts of Commissioner/ Secretaries.

There will be one post each of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jammu and Srinagar Metropolitan Regional Development Authority, two posts of Divisional Commissioners and one post each of Transport Commissioner, Chief Electoral Officer, Commissioner (Commercial Taxes), Excise Commissioner and Registrar Cooperative Societies.
The UT will have 20 posts of the Deputy Commissioners, three posts of Additional Deputy Commissioners and seven posts of Additional District Development Commissioners.
Two posits each are for Director Industries and Commerce and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, and six posts in the rank of Secretary/Special Secretary/ Additional Secretary besides one post each of Labour Commissioner and Settlement Commissioner.
Meanwhile, the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has created post of the Chief Secretary in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Presently, UT Ladakh has the post of Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor. Pawan Kotwal has been holding post of the Advisor.
The post has been created during cadre revision by the DoPT.
The UT of Chandigarh has also been given post of the Chief Secretary.
Fourteen posts of Ladakh include the Chief Secretary, two posts of Commissioner & Secretary, one post each of Secretary/ Divisional Commissioner and Secretary to Lieutenant Governor, two posts of Secretaries, four posts of Deputy Commissioners, one post of Additional Deputy Commissioner and two posts of Secretary/Special Secretary/ Additional Secretary.
Ladakh presently has two districts but the MHA has granted it five more districts which will be created after completion of formalities.
