UAE adds 19 individuals, legal entities to list of terrorism supporters – Reports

DOHA, Jan 9: The United Arab Emirates has added 19 individuals and legal entities, including UK-based education center Cambridge Education and Training Center, to the country’s terrorist list over alleged connections to the Muslim Brotherhood movement (banned in Russia as a terrorist group), the WAM news agency has reported.
The corresponding decree by the UAE government approved the inclusion of 11 individuals and eight legal entities on the list of supporters of terrorism.
Nine UAE citizens who also hold Swedish and Turkish citizenship. One Yemeni citizen and one Liberian who also holds Swedish citizenship have been added to the list, along with eight UK businesses, mainly operating in education and real estate, the agency said.
The step is reportedly a part of the UAE’s efforts to locate and eliminate networks used to fund terrorism directly or indirectly.
