Driving skill tests to be conducted at IDTR Kot Bhalwal from Jan 14

JAMMU, Jan 9: The driving skill tests which are currently being conducted at Khanpur in Nagrota, will be conducted at the Institute of Driving Training & Research (IDTR) Khaink, Kot Bhalwal with effect from January 14.

This was revealed by Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jammu, Pankaj Bhagotra in a press conference held, here today. RTO Jammu emphasized that the IDTR is a state-of-the-art facility established by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). It features six specialized testing tracks designed as per the mandates outlined in the Central Motor Vehicle (CMV) Rules.
Bhagotra further informed that the slot booking process for driving tests is entirely online and facilitated through the Sarathi portal. Applicants are encouraged to book their test slots online at their convenience, based on availability.
He also highlighted that the driving tests at IDTR will be conducted under the surveillance of video cameras, ensuring transparency and fairness. The video recordings will be stored for 90 days for any review or dispute resolution purposes.
The RTO appealed the general public to make use of the 58 services offered by the Transport Department through faceless manner from the comforts of their home. He encouraged applicants to access these services independently through the official portals without seeking assistance from intermediaries.
