JAMMU, Jan 9: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) organized a Sammelan here, today. The programme was presided over by the president of YAIKS, Pt R K Bhat.
Advisor to Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani was the chief guest on the occasion, while, Padamshri Dr. K N Pandita, B L Saraf, Retired District and Session Judge, B L Bhat and Shiban Khabri were the guests of honour.

The YAIKS Vision Document 2025 was submitted to the JK UT Government through Advisor to the Chief Minister. The Advisor during his address assured that the resolution may be introduced in the State Assembly for the honourable return of Pandits as per community aspirations. He further said his Government will definitely try to introduce Temples and Shrines Bill in the State Assembly besides the short term issues like enhancement of relief and more jobs under package for community youth. He said CM is also interested to review the old Apex Committee and its further formation without any delay. The MLA Baramulla Javed Husain Beg also spoke on the occasion and said his party is committed for the resettlement of KPs back to their motherland.

During the discussion the long term and short term resolutions were passed as a Vision Document of YAIKS for the year 2025.
Under the long term programme a call for comprehensive return policy was given: R. K. Bhat in his address said , “It is high time for the nation, under the strong leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to address the plight of the Kashmiri Pandit community, who have been homeless and rootless for over 35 years.
The Government must move beyond symbolic gestures and implement a direct-action programme for their rehabilitation. “If not now, then when?” He expressed optimism that the Pandits’ return to their motherland could become a reality under the Modi regime but warned that further delays would only deepen their despair.
YAIKS criticized the lack of discussion in the State Assembly on the resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits, despite their historical significance as the aboriginal community of the Valley. Bhat demanded rehabilitation before the region regains statehood.
YAIKS emphasized the need for a transparent and democratic mechanism for electing representatives as MLAs.
The protection of temples and shrines was also discussed.
Under short term action YAIKS demanded ? 15,000 additional jobs, one-time compensation of at least Rs.35 lac for the overaged section / traders.
It also demanded enhancement of cash assistance, welfare of the Valley posted migrant employees (VPME) and formation of Apex Committee for KPs.
Those who participated included Ashok Dhar, Sundari Lal, Jogi, Ravinder Koul, Kuldeep Kashmiri, Bharat Kachroo, Rohi Dhar etc.
