RAMBAN, Jan 9: A driver here today lost his life after the vehicle he was driving plunged into a gorge at Mohalnal Bass, Senabathi in Paristan area of Ukhral Tehsil.
Police sources informed that the accident took place at around 6 pm when the vehicle Tempo Traveller make bearing registration number JK12-6977 went out of the control of its driver and plunged into a gorge leaving the driver dead on the spot.
After getting information about the accident cops from Police Station Ukhral rushed to the spot and with the help of local volunteers retrieved the body of the driver.
The vehicle was on way from Ukhral to Senabathi and the driver was travelling all alone at the time of accident.
The deceased driver has been identified as Kailesh Singh, 35, son of Parbhat Singh, resident of Kothyar, Panchayat Pingloga, Ukhral.
SHO Police Station Ramsu, Inspector Nayeem Matoo has said that body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs after post-mortem and other legal formalities late this evening.
