JAMMU, Jan 9: A Municipal Committee team from Akhnoor today removed encroachment in various markets of the town and challaned shopkeepers and other Khokhawallas/ Rehriwalas and warned many to desist from such acts.
Today, the team led by Municipal Inspector Manohar Lal removed the goods kept on the footpaths in the town’s bus stand, main bazaar, Raja bazaar and other markets.
During the anti-encroachment drive warnings were issued to many shopkeepers who had encroached upon the foot paths and lanes. During drive five kg of polythene bags were confiscated. A fine of Rs 3300 was imposed on the defaulters. The EO said that the campaign will continue in the town.
