BEIRUT, Jan 12: The death toll from an explosion at a gas station in the province of Al Bayda in central Yemen has increased to 15 people, and 67 others sustained injuries, the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Sunday.
“Fifteen people died and 67 got injured in the incident in Al Bayda. The search for the missing is underway,” the ministry said in a statement, as quoted by Yemeni news agency SABA.
A source in the local administration has told Sputnik that the explosion damaged over 20 cars.
Al Bayda Governorate has recently been a place of clashes between the Shia movement Ansar Allah’s forces (Houthis), which rules northern Yemen, and armed groups opposing them. (UNI)
