JAMMU, Jan 14: Two students of Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh has bagged prestigious research positions in UK, USA
Dr Anil Sharma, a native of Hamirpur, a Ph D from the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at JUIT.
During his doctoral work, he was in a DBT-funded project.
Dr. Anil joined the University of Nottingham, UK, as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, supported by the EPSRC (the UK’s main research funding body).
His research will focus on bioleaching critical and strategic metals from urban waste streams.
Dr Monika Choudhary, hailing from Kangra, also completed her Ph D in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at JUIT.
She has now joined the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. The Icahn School of Medicine is at the forefront of next-generation medical and healthcare research.
Both scholars expressed their gratitude to their alma mater, Jaypee University and shared their exciting research endeavours with the Head of the Department, Prof Sudhir Syal.
Prof Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor of JUIT, congratulated them on their achievements and wished them continued success in their research careers.
