DODA, Jan 15: Police here today solved the controversial social media account case of ‘bhaderwahconfession’ which tried to defame many people of the area.
As per the case, on January 8, 2025, a complaint was received at Police Station Bhaderwah wherein the complainant alleged that an anonymous Instagram account with username ‘bhaderwahconfessionpage’ has been created by some mischievous elements using a fake email address in his name.
The account was not only damaging personal reputation but was also engaged in character assassination of both boys and girls by spreading false and defamatory contents.
On this regard a case in FIR number 03/2025 was registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation was entrusted to SDPO Bhaderwah.
During investigation, hectic efforts were made in order to trace the culprits.
Technical support from intermediaries like Meta, Google platform etc was also taken and with the help of technical assistance by ESU/Social Media Monitoring Cell of Doda, the persons associated with the controversial account were identified and the case has been solved.
Technical gadgets used in this have been seized for forensic analysis and further investigation was in progress.
