Scores of Government employees gathered at Partap Park Press Enclave here to demand the fulfillment of their financial rights. The protestors carried placards and raised slogans, accusing the government of neglecting their legitimate concerns.
They highlighted that the non-payment of GP fund arrears and delays in implementing the DA hike were severely impacting their finances amidst rising inflation.
As the protestors attempted to march from the Press Enclave to Residency Road, police intervened, detaining several demonstrators and bundling them into police vans. “We have been left with no option but to hit the streets. Our financial stability is at stake,” said one protestor.
The employees alleged that their repeated appeals to the authorities had gone unanswered. Carrying placards and chanting slogans, they emphasized their frustration with the government’s inaction.
The EJAC warned of intensifying the agitation if the Government does not address their demands in the coming days.
