KPS distributes scholarships among 30 students

JAMMU, May 24: As part of educational promotional programme for displaced KP community, the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) today disbursed scholarships among 30 deserving students.
In this connection a function was organized in Sabha premises in which Kuldeep Drabu was the chief guest.  The students who were given scholarships were earlier screened by a Committee.
These scholarships were given in addition to 69 scholarships which were already distributed among the needy students.
The function was also attended by B B Bakshi advocate, the coordinator of the programme.  S L Bhagati general secretary of the Sabha read the welcome address.
The president of the Sabha K K Khosa emphasized the need felt by all KPS members since 1990 to promote educational activity in the community as education has been the hall mark of Kashmiri Pandits in adverse times. Thousands of students have been benefitted by such programmes and Sabha endures to continue such support and wishes more people especially philanthropists to join the programme.
Kuldeep Drabu, who is funding the education of the 100 students while speaking on the occasion asked students to devote to their studies for excelling in the education as it is a gate way to modern global world.
Sabha senior vice president A K Braroo stressed the community members to donate for education to build human resources in the community. Shama Handoo, Prof Anpurna, Ashwani Koul, Ashok Khar, G K Kampasi, R L Koul, B L Tiku and Subash Dhar were also present on the occasion.
