JAMMU, May 24: J&K State Pensioners Association (JKSPA) has sought payment of arrears of 6% DA installment pertaining to the period from January to June 2009 to pre-2009 pensioners.
In a communication to Principal Secretary Finance, Krishan Singh, JKSPA president said that it is not understandable as to why only these pensioners have been singled out for this kind of shaddy and humiliating treatment which utterly lacks transparency and responsiveness on the part of the Government.
The association also reiterated demand for immediate release of 10% DA installment from January 2014 and payment of balance amount of 6th CPC arrears to State employees and pensioners who are reeling under the onslaught of sky rocketing prices of almost all essential goods of daily consumption.
The other demands of raising pension by 80% and above of age on Central pattern, revision of pension of SOs and some categories of employees of Accounts, Statistics, Sheep/Animal Husbandry Department upgraded notionally from 1-1-1996 and monetarily from 19-2-2003 who retired during the period from 1-1-1996 and to 19-2-2003 as those who retired therefore were given the effect of pension revision by the Accountant General but instruction are awaited from the Government about the applicability of upgradation order in respect of left over pensioner and other demands were raised by the association.
Enchancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 was also demanded by the association.
