JAMMU, May 25: Police today arrested two persons including a Sarpanch and recovered 55 filled and 150 empty cement bags from the house of Sarpanch at village Chak Talib under the jurisdiction of RS Pura police station.
The arrested Sarpanch has been identified as Bishambar Dass Gorkha son of Gian Chand R/o Chak Talib while another person arrested from the spot was identified as Kasturi Lal son of Bishno Ram R/o Chak Talib, RS Pura.
A police team of RS Pura police station headed by SHO RS Pura Jaipal Sharma raided the residence of the Sarpanch and recovered 55 filled and 150 empty bags of ACC and Trikuta cement from there.
The cement belonged to the BDO block RS Pura, police said.
Police said the Sarpanch had taken the cement from the BDO office RS Pura and was mixing them.
Kasturi Lal had gone to purchase the cement.
Police have booked the accused under Sections 409 and 411 RPC.
