JAMMU, May 25: A well designed play ‘Satyavadi Gokhle’ written by Sarveshwer Dayal Saxena and directed by Neeraj Kant, was staged today by Natrang in its Sunday Theatre Series.
The play carried a very relevant message which was beautifully coated by humour. The play occurs at a school classroom where students are having fun as the teacher is still to enter the class.
They are planning to do strike against the principal as the new teacher who is coming to teach them is too old for them and they think that this long generation gap will cause restrictions in their freedom but to their surprise, the teacher was too clever and seasoned that he could take the class without much objection.
The class monitor who is a bully kind of child has his own style, he bunks the classes which he does not like and copies in exams to get the good marks. He also encourages others to apply his formula but a very sincere and honest child, Gopal Gokhle refuses to do that.
This attitude of Gopal invites criticism and laughter from the other students but he was firm on his convictions. Once a while when the test was too difficult, Gopal also resorted to copying with the influence of others but after realizing his mistake, he admits this in front of a very callous teacher who feels touched by looking at the honesty of the child and pledges to be reasonable and compassionate towards his students in the future.
The artists who performed in the play include Ashwani Bali, Sachin Saini, Varun Sharma, Gopi Sharma, Shekher Sharma, Mahikshit Singh Langeh, Syed Mudassar Ali Shah, Namit Dubey, Abhimanyu Singh and Rohit Kapoor.
The sets were erected by Mohd Yaseen. The show was presented by Sushil Raina and was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma.
