JAMMU, May 25: Maintaining that BJP sticks to its stand on Article 370 which instead of doing any good to the people of State has harmed their cause, the newly elected BJP MP from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency, and Party State president, Jugal Kishore Sharma today said that still Party wants to have an open debate on the issue.
Addressing a felicitation function organized by district BJP led by Rajesh Gupta in honour of three newly elected MPs from State, who besides him included Party MP from Kathua -Udhampur -Doda Lok Sabha Constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh and Party MP from Ladakh region Thupstan Chhewang, Mr Sharma said already a debate has started all over the country whether Article 370 has harmed the interests of the people of the State or not.
Asking the Partymen to keep a complete rapport with the people, BJP leader expressed the hope that the Party will seek majority in the State also during the coming Assembly elections and next Chief Minister in the State will be of BJP from Jammu region.
Addressing the function Dr Jitendra Singh said with BJP winning three seats from the State which comprise of over 50 percent of its population and over 75 percent area of the State is an indication that the people of the State have endorsed Party’s stand on Article 370 and other issues.
He asked the Party activists now to change the strategy as earlier Partymen were resorting to agitational methods in settling the peoples problems and now after coming in Government we have to train the workers the other way of solving things and peoples problems.
Thupstan Chhewang said BJP created history after winning the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat. The Party unit was strong in Ladakh and with its victory it has become more stronger now. He, while giving credit to Partymen and leaders from the region for its victory in Ladakh also lauded the acumen of Party general secretary (org) Ashok Kaul for boosting the morale of Party cadres in the region.
Showing optimism that BJP will form the new Government in the State, he said in Ladakh region the Partymen have started working in this regard. Mr Chhewang said that he will not only work for the welfare of Ladakhis and development of the region only but for the entire State.
BJP Legislative Party leader Ashok Khajuria said that credit for Party’s victory goes to its activists who worked day night during campaigning by taking Party’s message to every nook and corner of the State.
BJP organizational general secretary Ashok Kaul while lauding the efforts of the Partymen for the remarkable success of the Party said after success in Mission 272+ the Party has now to work for 44+ Mission during the Assembly elections in the State.
Former president and BJP National Executive Member Dr Nirmal Singh congratulated the Partymen for their extraordinary performance and expressed the hope that they will work with same zeal and enthusiasm to take Party to victory in the coming Assembly elections.
Party former president Shamsher Singh Manhas said that with the victory an added responsibility has come on the shoulders of partymen as well as elected representatives of the State and they have to work for mitigating the sufferings of the people.
