JAMMU, May 25: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today said that Government was committed to create better facilities to the people in capital cities of the State. He said the Government has devised a well-knit strategy to upgrade facilities under Master Plan.
This Minister was addressing a large gathering of people at Gandhi Nagar after laying foundation stone of multipurpose Community Hall today.
Mr. Bhalla said that the multipurpose Community Hall would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. one crore. He asked the Managing Director JKHB to also construct two-room in big size on the available site for its use during celebration of marriage as well as other social functions.
The Minister directed the JKHB to gear up their men and machinery in completing the project within stipulated time frame.
Earlier, Mr. Bhalla also kick started construction work of slab over nallah in W No. 54 near Panj Mandir at Trikuta Nagar, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 4 lakh. He asked the executing agency Jammu Municipal Corporation to also fix colour tiles after opening of the slab so that the devotees of Panj Mandir can utilise the space during celebration of satsangs and other religious functions.
Interacting with the people of the area, the Minister said that Government was making all out efforts to boost tourism in the three regions of the State, adding that in this regard several new projects like cable car projects from Peerkho to Mahamaya, Mahamaya to Shahabad in Bahu fort and one at Patnitop are under progress besides artificial lake in River Tawi is also under progress at an estimated cost of Rs. 110 crore.
Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB) Ram Paul Sharma besides other senior officers from JKHB present on the occasion.
Later, the Minister dedicated Sprinkle System in Green Belt Park in Channi Himmat. On the demand of morning and evening walkers, he announced one water cooler for the garden and asked JKHB to install today positively for the convenience of the people.
Senior Congress leader and former PYC senior vice-president Ajay Tony was also present on the occasion.
