PMO website updated within minutes of Modi taking oath as PM

NEW DELHI, May 26:
Within minutes of Mr Narendra Modi taking oath as the 15th Prime Minister of India, the website of the  Prime Minister’s office was updated to show Modi as the PM.
In his first message to the people of India as PM, Mr Modi sought support from the people for a strong, developed and inclusive India that actively engages with the global community to strengthen the cause of world peace and development.
“As we devote ourselves to take India’s development journey to newer heights, we seek your support, blessings and active participation. Together we will script a glorious future for India. Let us together dream of a strong, developed and inclusive India that actively engages with the global community to strengthen the cause of world peace and development,” Mr Modi said in his message.
Describing the victory of the BJP in the elections as “a mandate for development, good governance and stability”, Mr Modi said, “As we devote ourselves to take India’s development journey to newer heights, we seek your support, blessings and active participation.”
Describing the website as “a very important medium of direct communication between him and people”, the PM said,”I am a firm believer in the power of technology and social media to communicate with people across the world. I hope this platform creates opportunities to listen, learn and share one’s views. Through this website you will also get all the latest information about my speeches, schedules, foreign visits and lot more. I will also keep informing you about innovative initiatives undertaken by the Government of India.”
The website pmindia.nic.in was updated just minutes after Mr Modi was sworn in by President Pranab Mukhrjee as the 15th PM.
The new PMO website clears air about official Twitter handle. Users have been asked to follow @PMOIndia for PM office. (AGENCIES)
