KATHUA, May 26: Minister of State for Finance, Fisheries, Co-operatives and Elections, Dr Manohar Lal today reviewed several ongoing works in Kandi belt of Hiranagar, Dayala Chak and Dinga Amb area and went for introspection, finding reasons behind defeat of the Congress Party in recent Lok Sabha elections in the district.
A large number party functionaries of block, district and Panchayat level also attended meeting at Dayala Chak. While the speakers projected their view point regarding defeat of the party in the Lok Sabha election from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency, some of them termed Modi wave as main reason behind it.
After hectic deliberations the party workers with one voice appreciated the work done and achievements made in Billawar constituency particularly in respect of road network, up-gradation of schools, creation of Medical College at Kathua, hospitals and new water supply schemes. He asked the party workers to strengthen Congress Party in the area and reach out to the people to their door steps.
The Minister also assured the workers to address pending issues of the people of this Kandi belt in coming months. Capt Tara Chand, Sarpanch Kuldeep Gupta and Madan Lal also attended the meeting.
