Pak violates ceasefire on LoC, IB

JAMMU, May 26: Pakistan Army and Rangers today violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati (KG) sector in Poonch district and International Border (IB) in Arnia sector but there was no official confirmation of the incidents.
Reports said Pakistan Army violated ceasefire in KG sector at 10 am today using small and automatic arms. The firing continued for about half an hour.
Army spokesman Col Manish Mehta, however, denied any ceasefire violation on the LoC today.
Late this afternoon, the Pakistani Rangers fired three sniper rounds from their Awaam Post at Naka 84 in Arnia sector. However, the officials didn’t confirm the incident.
There were no casualties or damage in the firing, reports said.
The firing coincided with the visit of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to India.
On the LoC, Pakistan Army has been violating ceasefire for the past quite some days. Even, the Pakistan Army has been facilitating infiltration attempts by the militants on the LoC. During past one month, about a dozen ceasefire violations have been reported in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch and Pallanwalla sectors.
