SRINAGAR, May 26: Minister for Tourism, G A Mir has underscored the need for futuristic planning of tourist destinations to accommodate the growing inflow of tourists and provide them world class facilities.
The Minister was today chairing a meeting to review the Master Plans of various tourist destinations of the State.
Mr. Mir asked the managements of these tourist destinations to take short term and long term measures to ensure that tourists get a hassle free stay at these places and don’t face any inconvenience.
Stressing on synergy among various Governmental agencies, the Minister asked all the concerned agencies to undertake periodic inspections of these tourist spots and ensure that while environmental concerns are addressed, tourist infrastructure is also strengthened.
Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Zaffar Ahmad; Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Saugat Biswas; Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone; Director, Tourism, Kashmir, Talat Parvez; MD, JK Cable Car Corporation and CEO, Gulmarg Development Authority, Tufail Mattoo; Managing Director, JKTDC, Shamim Ahmad;  CEO, Pahalgam Development Authority, Riyaz Ahmad Wani  and other officers were present in the meeting.
