JAMMU, May 27: National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged a protest demonstration against Vice-Chancellor (VC) Central University Jammu (CUJ), Dr SS Baloria, for alleged irregularities in recent appointments in the varsity.
Addressing the protesters, NSF President, Sukhdev Singh condemned the discrimination and suppression of the Jammu youth in the recent appointments of CUJ. He said the process and procedures adopted by the CUJ Jammu in recent appointments was totally unethical, illegal and violation of the fundamental right of equal opportunity.
Singh said the varsity has become a rehabilitation center for retired and corrupt officials. “The varsity administration has violated the norms by recruiting the retired teachers and other staff members,” he said.
He alleged that an Assistant Registrar was recently appointed in CUJ that too in hush-hush manner. “Without inviting applications from scholars of Jammu and Kashmir, the post is filled which is in brazen violation of set up norms”, he said.
Moreover all the contractual clerical staff working in varsity is appointed on directions of VC, without any advertisement”, he alleged.
