SAMBA, May 27: An agent of Vijaypur -Ramgarh route was injured after two unidentified motorbike borne assailants fired upon him near Vijaypur canal this evening.
He was identified as Pardeep Singh alias Tony, son of Sagar Singh of Vijaypur Ward 12.
According to police, two unidentified youth came on a motor bike which was without number plate and fired upon the agent. He received bullet injuries on his thigh and was injured.
He was rushed to Vijaypur Emergency Hospital by police and local people where from doctors referred him to GMC Jammu for treatment.
The Vijaypur police has registered a case and started investigation. However no arrest has been made so far.
SSP Samba Anil Magotra said that the victim in his statement said that he could not identify the assailants who after firing upon him fled. He said the motor bike was also without number plate. However police has started investigation, he added.
