KATHUA, May 28: A Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Complex here under the chairmanship of Vinod Chatterji Koul, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Kathua.
Two benches were constituted for disposal of cases. The first bench was presided over by Vinod Chatterji Koul, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority and assisted by Sonia Gupta, Addl. District and Sessions Judge, Kathua.
The second bench was presided over by Om Parkash Bhagat, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee (Sub Judge/CJM), Kathua, who was assisted by Dinesh Gupta, District Judicial Mobile Magistrate (T), Kathua and Renu Dogra, Munsiff, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Kathua.
The first bench settled 14 cases of different nature— MACT, bank cases and matrimonial cases while as second bench settled 13 cases. An amount of Rs 1,22,35,000 was awarded as compensation.
